Mashambanzou Safaris concession area is located approximately 150 KM northwest of Beira, Mozambique, your arrival point in Mozambique. From the moment you step off the airplane, you’ll realize “you’re not in Kansas anymore!” This hunt is not for the “faint of heart.” There is a 7-8 hour drive on unimproved roads to the main camp through some of the most remote and inaccessible areas of Africa.
The main camp is located along a small river where lion, leopard, and elephant roam freely. The main camp is built with native materials; electricity is furnished by generator for a limited time daily. The staff and professional hunters have done an outstanding job with local materials to build a clean, comfortable camp with a well stocked bar and excellent food. Sables abound in this area as well as Sunni and Lechinstein Hartebeest.
If you are after Cape Buffalo, Hippo, or Crocodile, a short 6 hour drive will take you to their concession areas on the mighty Zambezi River. You will be hunting cape buffalo in the vast delta of the Zambezi River in herds of hundreds; hippo and crocodile along the river or among the many lagoons. Your first day on the Zambezi to your last will take you back in time to the era of “The African Queen,” as you work your way through the reed beds and sand bars. This is, without equal, an unforgettable experience.
